Number 6: Tamirat Desta
Tamirat was a talented singer as well as a songwriter which contributed to many other artists' work. The first album released by Tamirat was titled as 'Anleyayim' which gives him the privilege to sit at the very top of artists in the country and brought him wealth and fame at the same time. There were various ladies who fell in love with him as he was a young, handsome and amazing singer. This album has a lot of beautiful songs such as 'Hakime nesh'- you are my medicine, 'Ye Liben' - to whom I tell what I feel in my heart, 'Egnan new mayet'- You have to see how we flow together after a long time apart.
Tamirat dropped his second album ten years later in 2014 which was titled "Keza Sefer" which can be translated as 'That Neighborhood'. Like the first album, his second also has got many favored songs such as 'Lijemamregn new' which can be loosely translated as 'It is about to start', and 'Selina' a song made with two languages. Honestly speaking Selina was his best song from this brand new album. It is a love song for his fiance living in another country, in his context Eritrea.
Tamirat died in April 2018 where he was seeking medical support for his tonsillitis, but he died afterward for unknown reasons. The news has shocked the whole country as no has ever heard of him being sick which may result in death. He was a father of six kids. Here is the very best song by Tamirat Desta.
Number 5: Alli Birra
Ali Bira is a famous Afaan Oromoo singer who was born I love city called Diredawa in 1947. Ali is not just a singer, he is also a poet, nationalist, songwriter and a well-known composer. Ali joined a cultural group engaged in promoting Oromo culture and the language of Afaan Oromoo unofficially known as 'Afran Qallo' when he was just a 13 years old boy. in 1996 the government officially banned the group and even arrested its members where Ali escaped and moved from Dire to Addis Ababa.
He settled in Addis Ababa and continued to sing many memorable songs that are more of a nationalist in nature. He was also part of Kibur Zebegna which consists of artists such as Bizunesh Bekele, Mohammud Ahmed and Tilahun Gesesse.
Some of the very best songs by Ali are: Yaa Hundee Bareeda - The beautiful seed, this song is a nationalist song which aimed at creating awareness among the young generation about resisting the repressive government. Also, Yaa Finxee Midhagaa - The sweet-bitter self, is his best song.
The other successful hits recorded by Ali were "Hin Yaadin", "Asabalee", "Ammalelee", and "Gamachu". He is also a role model for many youngsters to follow his foot steps before rising to fame. Recently Ali Birra released a music video named 'Siyaadekaa' with a talented singer Helen Berhe. You can watch this video here.
Number 4: Tewodros Kassahun
Tewodros Kassahun also known as Teddy Afro in his professional name among his fans is one of the most loved artists in the country. Most of his songs are not straight forward as they seem when you hear them for the first time rather he uses them to comment on different political issues of Ethiopia.
Teddy Afro has released four official and one unofficial album to date. The first was released in 2001 an album named Abugida which gave him the chance to get attention from the fans and afterward rose to fame shortly. This album consists of songs such as 'Leman limash' loosely translated as to whom I talk about you. In 2002 Teddy dropped his second album named Lebo which is not much known among many fans and even some call it an unofficial album. Many believe that this album was made in 2000 before the release of his first album but released later.
Teddy released his third and highly anticipated album Yasteseryal in 2005. The album became influential but at the same time controversial as it directly comments his grievance against the ruling party. He even insults by saying there is no change except one oprerassor replacing the other whicle at the same time saluting the former kings which are hated among many ethinic groups for violating their rights and limiting the right of slef expression.
The fourth album Tikur Sew was released on the eve of Easter in 2012. Where his song Tikur Sew viewed 3 million times within a week. This song mostly salutes former king Minilik. Many of his followers believe that Teddy is more inclined to the monarchy system instead of a modern state which was justified many times in his works. His final album was released in 2017 named as Ethiopia, which is a song about unity and harmony. The timing of this album itself has a lot to talk about as it was one of the most fearful times in the history of the country where many people think there may be a big chance of collapsing as a state. These were followed by many protests specially in Oromia regional state where the resistance made the government weak. The resistance was led by famous human rights activist Jawar Mohammed which includes boycotting markets, closing main roads feeding the capital city, and stopping schools.

As it was reported by many international medias such as CNN, Aljazeera, New York times, BBC and VOA. Ethiopians have shown the world they can cooperate for good and they can be together for better Ethiopia.
Yesterday , August 01, 2019 the prime minister has answered many questions raised by different journalists. Some of the questions are related to the tree planting and how the government is planning to make sure the planted seedlings will rise. He has stressed that his government will work to make the trees grow as expected and to support this a committee is established to follow up the progress.
One journalist has asked him till when the country keeps shutting down internet while there is national exam and there is conflicts in the country. He answered that the government will always try to keep the safety of the citizens. As it is known internet brings people together but at the same time it facilitate false information transmission and this can affect the peaceful life of the people. So, to tackle this problem the government will take any necessary action even if it means that internet should be shut for longer time. There fore, he has advised the people to keep their harmony and their unity should not be shakedown for every false and fabricated information.
He was also asked if his party will merge and make a single party. As previously said EPRDF is planning to come up as a single party by changing the current formation. The current formation of the party is that there are four sister regional parties which make coalition to form EPRDF. The parties are Oromo Democratic Party (ODP) of Oromia, Tigray People Liberation Front (TPLF), South Ethiopia Peoples Democratic Movement (SEPDM) of south region and Amhara Democratic Party (ADP). And there are other supporting parties from the rest of regions which do not have participants in the central committee of the party which make every important decisions including appointing the prime minister.
It is known that Ethiopia is a land locked country without and direct access to the sea. Therefore it is compulsory that the country work in collaboration with its neighbors especially by creating regional integration. The regional integration plan is initiated by prime minister Abiy Ahmed since he took office in 2018. Now it seems like all East African countries are buying his idea and make the region economically integrated and politically
